International
Mother Language Day, popularly referred to as ‘Shaheed Dibas’ may be a red
letter day in our history. In 1952, on today variety of our brave sons laid
down their lives for the explanation for Bangla language. The UNESCO declared
21st February because the International Mother Language Day showing reference
to the martyrs of our language movement. This declaration has turned a national
celebration to a world event. Now the entire world observes the 21st February
as International Mother Language Day.
Every year on today, people from all walks of life come to
the martyr’s monument and offer their respect. They placed on black badges on
their clothes. Many people walk bare-footed and take in front of the Shaheed
Minar with flowers and garlands. The govt. different organizations and
institutions arrange programmes to celebrate the day.
Newspapers publish special supplements on today. It’s our
legal holiday. Schools, Colleges and offices remain closed on today. Our ensign
is kept hoisted half most on today. Actually, the day possesses an excellent
Significance for the entire nation also because the whole world.
